CHILLIWACK – MLAs John Martin and Laurie Throness announced today that the B.C. government is providing $1,254,517 to assist local governments of the Chilliwack area provide services.

The Strategic Community Investment Fund restructures the Traffic Fine Revenue Sharing program and Small Community and Regional District Grants. Since 2009, the Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF) has provided over $600 million in funding to support B.C. communities and enable them to invest money in projects that are identified at the local level as a priority. The SCIF program was implemented by the province to help provide local governments with greater financial stability.

  • Chilliwack – $520,183
  • Harrison Hot Springs – $150,861
  • Hope – $289,474
  • Kent – $260,872
  • Fraser Valley Regional District – $33,127
